This series is going to be a list of three teams from each conference that need to bounce back after having a drop-off from 2021 to 2022. We’ll start with the SEC.
Arkansas
Before 2021, Arkansas had four straight seasons where they failed to reach at least five wins. Sam Pittman came in and turned that team around quickly, they went 9-4 in 2021 and were even ranked inside the top ten at one point. They ended that season with a win in the Outback Bowl and fans were optimistic heading into 2022. They ended up regressing and going 7-6. Granted, they did play a decent part of the season without starting Quarterback KJ Jefferson. He will be back next season and Arkansas will look to be back to an 8-10 win team.

Texas A&M
Texas A&M’s running joke used to be that they would go 8-4 every season with a playoff-caliber roster. They didn’t even live up to that last season, going 5-7. They have the talent on that roster to win ten-plus games every season, but can’t seem to get it done. People are getting restless in College Station and Jimbo Fisher needs to figure it out, and soon. He seems to be making some of the right changes necessary to succeed, so we’ll see what happens.

Ole Miss
The Rebels were a ten-win team in 2021, and then only went 8-5 in 2022. That’s not horrible, but it is a drop-off. What makes it worse is that they went 1-5 in their last six games, losing their last four straight. They started 7-0 and ended 8-5. That cannot happen and Lane Kiffin knows that. He brought in a veteran QB in Spencer Sanders to compete with Jaxson Dart so he knows he’ll have his best choice out there on game day. I’m very interested to see who wins that job.
