The best thing for college football? Deion Sanders. But some think he’s the worst thing as well. Here’s your dose of Daily Deion.
Disclaimer: I have always been a fan of Deion Sanders. Loved him as a player at FSU, in Atlanta and Dallas and even respected him as a 49er against my Cowboys.
So Deion and the Buffs should be 5-2 after this weekend as I think they should handle a bad Stanford team. The record of the opponents they’ll have beaten is likely to be poor (TCU should be 3-4, Nebraska likely 4-3, Colorado State at 2-4, and Arizona State and Stanford should both be 1-5) but who cares? I had this Colorado team at 4-8 at the very best and likely 2-10 yet here we are.
I’ll have my list of top 10 coaching jobs in 2023 shortly but here’s a sneak peak — Deion Sanders is at the top. The job he has done has been astonishing. We’ve seen some bad teams become good very quickly like TCU, USC, and Tulane last year but to do so with 90% portal use is unheard of. Getting a team of strangers on the same page so quickly is remarkable and he deserves the kudos.
What happens after Stanford? Can they get that sixth win to be bowl-eligible? UCLA, Oregon State, Arizona, Washington State and Utah are all good teams so we shall see, but even if they are 5-7 overall who cares? This team is on the right path and could be scary in the Big 12 next season.
