Everyone loves lists. The best this, the strongest that. Let’s apply that randomly to college football, shall we?

Power Five coaches in line for bigger jobs.

1. Jedd Fisch, Arizona

2. Lance Leipold, Kansas

3. Chris Kleiman, Kansas State

4. Kalen DeBoer, Washington

5. Johnathan Smith, Oregon State

Breakdown:

Fisch will be targeted possibly by UCLA if they move on from Chip Kelly or USC if Lincoln Riley bolts. Leipold has been mentioned for a few big Midwest jobs as well as A&M, and the same can be said about Kleiman and DeBoer. Smith might need a new team, with Oregon State left behind in the realignment shuffle.

Kansas State's head coach Chris Klieman walks along the sidelines before the game against Texas Tech, Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Most disappointing SEC teams.

1. South Carolina

2. Arkansas

3. Kentucky

4. Texas A&M

5. Florida

Breakdown:

The Gamecocks have been awful, and I expected much more from Arkansas. I had Kentucky in my pre-season Top 25, so that didn’t work out, and we’ve become accustomed to A&M and Florida falling short.

Best college football rivalries.

1. Ohio State vs Michigan

2. Alabama vs Auburn

3. Oklahoma vs Texas

4. USC vs Notre Dame

5. Georgia vs Florida

Breakdown:

The Game is unrivaled, and we will see that this weekend with all the drama. The Iron Bowl is always worth it regardless of how good the Tigers are, and OU and Texas will take their battle to the SEC, where it will get even more epic. USC vs Notre Dame has great tradition, and the Cocktail Party is usually amazing. And no, Army vs Navy isn’t up there for me. Sorry.

Oklahoma coach Brent Venables celebrates with Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Dillon Gabriel (8) after the Red River Rivalry college football game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) and the University of Texas (UT) Longhorns at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023. Oklahoma won 34-30.
