Everyone loves lists. The best this, the strongest that. Let’s apply that randomly to college football, shall we?
Top non-QB Heisman contenders
1. Audric Estime, Notre Dame
2. Rome Odunze, Washington
3. Malik Nabers, LSU
4. Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State
5. Travis Hunter, Colorado
Breakdown: OK, this is kinda of dumb because there are officially zero non-QB contenders left. Marvin Harrison Jr. is on some lists by name alone, but Odunze and Nabers have much better numbers but have zero chance with their QBs lighting up the world. Estime leads the nation in rushing, and the loss to Ohio State shouldn’t eliminate him, but he has zero chance with the massive numbers the QBs are putting up. Hunter’s injury eliminated him, but he had some serious buzz.

College football playoff pretenders
1. USC
2. Oklahoma
3. Ohio State
4. LSU
5. Washington
Breakdown: USC still hasn’t fixed their defense, especially against the run, and as a result, they will fall to someone, likely Utah, down the line. Oklahoma is improved but can’t hang with Texas, as we will soon find out, and this Ohio State offense won’t carry them like in years past. LSU is too erratic to be a serious contender, and that Huskies offense is amazing, but if it struggles for one game, they are done.

Most hated college football head coaches
1. Deion Sanders, Colorado
2. Nick Saban, Alabama
3. Lincoln Riley, USC
4. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan
5. Dabo Swinney, Clemson
Breakdown: Obviously, it’s Sanders and then everyone else, but Saban is still near the top despite being replaced. Riley has that OU hate going for him, but many other fan bases don’t like him either, while Harbaugh is generally disliked, as has been forever. And I know so many people who don’t like Dabo and his “Aw shucks” approach and who are happy his team is struggling.
