The 2024 recruiting class saw some very talented QBs in a loaded class, headlined by Julian Sayin, DJ Lagway, Dylan Raiola, and Air Noland. These high school standouts will have a chance to prove they can stand out at the next level and have a major impact on their teams and all of College Football in the years to come.
Julian Sayin (Ohio State)
Carlsbad, CA
#6 NAT, #1 QB, #1 CA
Julian Sayin committed to Ohio State on January 21, 2024, after previously enrolling at Alabama. Sayin joined an elite QB room of Will Howard, Devin Brown, Lincoln Keinholz, and the previously mentioned Noland. He has reportedly shined in practice and some believe he’s the best pure passer in this group.
The 6’1″, 203-pound QB threw for 2,347 yards, 24 TDs, and only had one interception in his Senior Season. The California native was named the 2023 California Gatorade Player of the Year, as well as the Elite 11 MVP. He is still in the race for the starting job in this upcoming season, according to Ryan Day, although it is believed that Howard will be named the starter. With this being Howard’s final season, Sayin could lead for the starting job in 2025 and beyond.

DJ Lagway (Florida)
Willis, TX
#7 NAT, #2 QB, #2 TX
DJ Lagway has stuck with Florida throughout his whole recruiting process, committing to the Gators on December 7, 2022, unlike some verbal commits. Lagway is a dual-threat QB thought of as one of the most athletic players in this class. In his Senior Season, he threw for 4,605 yards, 59 TDs, and 8 interceptions, while also rushing for 953 yards and 16 TDs. He was named the 2023 Gatorade National Player of the Year while setting the Texas 6A single-season record for touchdown passes.
The 6’2″, 225-pound prospect is the highest-rated passer to enroll at Florida since Jeff Driskel in 2011. However, he will likely sit out his first season behind returning Gators QB Graham Mertz. He’s in his final season of eligibility, which will help give Lagway a year to develop and learn the offense and likely take the reigns from there.

Dylan Raiola (Nebraska)
Buford, GA
#21 NAT, #3 QB, #3 GA
Dylan Raiola flipped from Georgia to Nebraska just two days before National Signing Day, shocking the College Football world. This was the second flip, as had previously flipped from Ohio State to Georgia. Raiola has many connections to Nebraska, through father Dominic Raiola, a former player, and uncle, Donovan Raiola, the current OL Coach for the Cornhuskers.
The Arizona native transferred to powerhouse Buford (GA) for his senior year and threw for 2,819 yards, 34 TDs, and only 1 interception, as well as 3 rushing TDs in his Senior Season. Nebraska’s QB from last season, Heinrich Haarberg, is returning for another season but Raiola will be competing for the starting job, one in which he should be able to win. Raiola looks to help Matt Rhule turn around the recent struggles of this Nebraska team, and get back to the Cornhusker teams of the past.

Air Noland (Ohio State)
Fairburn, GA
#56 NAT, #4 QB, #8 GA
Air Noland was the original Ohio State QB commit in this class making his decision on April 8, 2023. Since then the #1 QB prospect Julian Sayin, has added to this already stacked QB room. The lefty threw for 2,140 yards, 22 TDs, and 9 interceptions in his final high school season. Noland isn’t expected to see much playtime in his first season, with Will Howard being the projected starter and some of the other backups like Sayin ahead.
The 6’2, 190-pound passer has one of the quickest releases in this class and is also a proven runner who ran track in high school. The following 2025-2026 season is expected to see a QB battle between Noland and Sayin for the starting job, with the loser likely to transfer. Worse comes to worse, we’ve had OSU quarterback transfers have success elsewhere.
