Now that the college football season has begun, everyone can stop projecting and start actually seeing who the top true freshmen in the country will be. Here are some of the true freshmen who excelled during Week 6 :
QB Dante Moore – UCLA
While it wasn’t a completely smooth ride for Moore, he was a big part of the Bruins 25-17 victory over #13 Washington State. He completed 22 of 44 passes for 290 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions as UCLA now moves to 4-1 on the season.
WR Kevin Concepcion – NC State
While the Wolfpack underwent a change at quarterback, Conception continued to shine during a 48-41 victory over Marshall. He finished the game with a team-high eight receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

WR Devin McCuin – UTSA
McCuin had his most productive day of the season during a 49-34 victory at Temple. He finished with a team-high six receptions for 94 yards and one touchdown as he further established himself as a valuable part of the Roadrunners offense.
WR Eugene Wilson III – Florida
Wilson, who had been productive through the first quarter of the season, put together his best game of the season on Saturday with eight receptions for 64 yards and his first collegiate touchdown during a 38-14 victory over Vanderbilt.

WR Amare Thomas – UAB
UAB played their best game of the season on Saturday night during a 56-35 victory over USF. Thomas once again played an important role in that with three receptions for 58 yards and one touchdown.
DB Caleb Downs – Alabama
While his performance was not as eye-opening as last weekend, Downs still shined during a 26-20 victory at Texas A&M. He finished the game with seven tackles, second most on the team. Overall, he currently leads the Tide with 47 tackles.

DB Dillon Thieneman – Purdue
Somewhat quietly, Thieneman is enjoying one of the best true freshman seasons in the country in 2023. He continued to impress during a 20-14 loss at Iowa with eight tackles. He now leads the Boilermakers in tackles (53) and interceptions (3).
LB Anthony Hill Jr. – Texas
Despite a disappointing loss to Oklahoma, Hill once again was one of the top overall players on the field. He finished the game with eight tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, one sack and one pass breakup.
