TRENDING: Will Jaden Rashada Finally Prove Himself?

One of the more polarizing names in college football, Jaden Rashada, may be close to finding his next home

One of the more polarizing names in recruiting and college football over the last two years has been quarterback Jaden Rashada. During that time, he has only attempted 82 passes, completed 53.7% of his attempts and achieved a 4/3 touchdown to interception ratio. Now he may be close to finding a landing spot where he will have a legitimate opportunity to compete.

Ever since his high school recruiting process turned chaotic, which eventually saw him end up at Arizona State, curious eyes have been following Rashada closely. Those eyes saw him get limited time with the Sun Devils as a true freshman before he surprisingly transferred to Georgia last year. And it was a surprising choice because he was never going to play with the Bulldogs.

The least surprising thing happened next, as Rashada re-entered the transfer portal. But where would his next stop be? If it does end up being Western Kentucky, that is the best-case scenario for both sides. Rashada needs a fresh start at a program where he can try to prove himself, while for the Hilltoppers, it would add a young, potentially dynamic quarterback, who may flourish in Conference USA.

However, if Rashada does end up at Western Kentucky, the job will not be handed to him. The Hilltoppers have already brought in one transfer quarterback, Maverick McIvor, who should not be overlooked. McIvor began his collegiate career at Texas Tech, before transferring to FCS Abilene Christian. In three seasons with the Wildcats, he passed for 8,012 yards and 63 touchdowns. Just as Rashada would be trying to prove himself, McIvor will be trying to do the same back at the FBS level.
