I made my way-too-early top 25 all the way back in January. Now, we have seen spring practices and games, and I believe it is time to update that list. This is my updated top 25 for the 2023 season, I will list the rankings and then explain my changes below.

There are a few changes in this updated ranking. LSU moves up, and Alabama and USC move down. I like LSU the more I see them. I believe they have a better QB situation than Alabama, and a better defense than USC, those are the main reasons they jumped ahead of those two.

I know what happened in the Orange Bowl, but I moved Clemson ahead of Tennessee due to their coordinator hire. I see Garrett Riley making a huge difference for that offense. Washington, Texas, and Oregon all moved up while Notre Dame fell three spots. After spring I just like those teams better, I think they have more complete rosters. TCU falls from 15 to 20 due to their loss of Garrett Riley and other star players.

Newcomers
Oklahoma and Kansas are the two newcomers, I think Brett Venables will turn things around in his second season. I expect that defense to be a lot better as well. I like the Jayhawks, they were 5-0 before Jalon Daniels got injured. They will have him back, and if he can stay healthy, I see Kansas being a top-25 team in 2023.
