The big news yesterday was Nebraska backing out of a home-and-home series against Tennessee. The Vols were quick to point out that they weren’t the one that pulled the plug on the series, which quickly resulted in a response from an AAC head coach who is quite familiar with the Tennessee program.

USF head coach Alex Golesh made it known that the Bulls would be interested in replacing the Huskers in Tennessee’s 2026 and 2027 schedule. He is also very familiar with the Tennessee administration after serving as the Vols offensive coordinator during the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

While USF isn’t Nebraska when it comes to football history, Tennessee fans could do a lot worse than a weekend trip to Tampa Bay. It will be interesting to see how the Vols schedule ends up looking, but for now, the Bulls are a solid option.
