Vanderbilt enjoyed a rejuvenation on the field in the 2024 with a 7-6 record and victory in the Birmingham Bowl. In order to keep this momentum going the Commodores had to address depth concerns on their offensive line and have done so with the addition of several key transfers. The latest was yesterday, when On3’s Pete Nakos announced that Bryce Henderson of FCS South Dakota signed.

Henderson, 6-foot-8 and 325-pounds, was a Second-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference performer last season with the Coyotes. As a grad transfer, he was able to enter the portal outside of the designated windows, which he did after his offensive line coach at South Dakota, Jeff Nady, recently made the move to Vanderbilt. Following his coach to Nashville, Henderson will be part of a revamped offensive line which will battle for playing time during the spring and summer.

Other transfers who will be competing with Henderson for playing time on the offensive line include Sterling Porcher (Texas Tech), Isaia Glass (Oklahoma State), Jordan White (Liberty) and Gunner Givens (Virginia Tech).

With the return of Diego Pavia at quarterback this season, Vanderbilt should once again be a tough out in the SEC. However, that becomes less likely if Henderson and the other offensive line additions don’t become a cohesive unit in the next couple of months.
