College football has created countless stars throughout its history. So, when you start trying to figure out the greatest of all-time at a position, it gets extremely difficult. On the recent 7pm in Brooklyn Podcast, former Alabama, and current Philadelphia Eagle, star DeVonta Smith claimed to be the greatest wide receiver of all time.
Where does DeVonta Smith rank himself among all-time college football receivers? 🤔

Smith didn’t necessarily claim to be the best ever without getting pushed a bit by the host, Carmelo Anthony, but at the end he was more than content with accepting the title. While the conversation centered around the four wide receivers who had won a Heisman Trophy, which are Smith, Travis Hunter, Tim Brown and Desmond Howard, Smith was quick to point out other former stars like Julio Jones, Cooper Kupp and Justin Blackmon.
However, aside from his Heisman Trophy, Smith also won two National Championships while with the Tide, which is an advantage he has above everyone else who was mentioned.
Overall, this is a debate that has no clear answer. Aside from who has already been mentioned, many other wide receivers have had epic collegiate careers, like Michael Crabtree, Ja’Marr Chase, Amari Cooper, Troy Edwards and Corey Davis, but once again, if you factor in the team success, it is difficult to pick against Davis.
