Usually, a head coach doesn’t show up on ESPN’s College GameDay before a game, but that is what happened in South Bend as Curt Cignetti made his way on the show to discuss tonight’s battle against Notre Dame. And he was not bashful about what Indiana has accomplished and what they can do tonight against the Irish.

Coach Cignetti has brought unexpected levels of success to Indiana during his first season in Bloomington. He has not been shy at any point during his time at Indiana and that continued that on College GameDay.

"We don't just beat Top 25 teams, we beat the s— out of them."

While every part of me enjoys how energetic and passionate Coach Cignetti is, the obvious flaw in his statement about “We don’t just beat Top 25 teams, we beat the $hit out of them” is the Ohio State game. They obviously didn’t beat anything out of the Buckeyes when they had the opportunity to make a huge statement.

So, everyone will see how the Notre Dame goes, but whichever way it does, you can be sure that Coach Cignetti’s comments will be brough up frequently after the game.
