It should not come as a surprise that Tennessee fans are passionate about the Vols. And rumors were swirling all week that there would be a large amount in Columbus today for the game against Ohio State. Now that seems like reality, as the Vols have invaded Ohio State.

“29th year of doing College GameDay, and this is by far the most fans from the visiting team I’ve ever seen at a College GameDay.”

There were stories earlier this week that Tennessee fans managed to obtain the Ohio State season ticket holder presale code and quickly bought up tickets. And over the last couple of days, information from the secondary market was that a much larger than expected number of sales have come from the state of Tennessee. These are no longer stories, but facts.

After seeing College GameDay this morning and hearing Kirk Herbstreit’s comments, it is impossible to ignore the reality of the situation. There will be a substantial number of Tennessee fans at Ohio State tonight, they will be dressed in orange and they will very loud.

Having a home game is supposed to be an advantage, and it still will be for Ohio State, but expect the Tennessee players to receive an added jolt of energy from seeing the amount of orange in the crowd tonight.
