This past weekend brought us some exciting games that kept us on the edge of our seats. I was able to see which signal-callers possess the kind of grit that inspires a team to rally behind them. I witnessed standout performances across the board. Last week, I highlighted the players who separated themselves from the pack, and this week, I present another lineup of quarterbacks who did just that. Let’s dive in!
Honorable Mention:
Max Brosmer | Minnesota, 22-for-37 for 213 yards and a touchdown
This game deserved national attention. Minnesota faced off against the No. 24-ranked Illinois Fighting Illini in a high-stakes matchup that produced numerous momentum shifts. Despite not being an aerial spectacle, Max Brosmer rose to the occasion and delivered an effective performance, proving he has what it takes to win. The Gophers have been on a roll.

Dillon Gabriel | Oregon, 22-34, 294 Yds, 1 TD, 1 rushing TD
Dillon Gabriel led his team to victory against the Michigan Wolverines with pinpoint accuracy and agile playmaking. He showcased his versatility, proving that Oregon is a team to watch. The Ducks remain undefeated at 9–0.

Elite Performance:
Maddux Madsen | Boise State, 24-32, 307 Yds, 4 TDs
Maddux Madson played with ice in his veins, showing remarkable poise in the pocket and excelling in the play-action game. He made the simple completions and capitalized on chances to go deep. Paired with a Heisman hopeful Ashton Jeanty, this offense is a nightmare to defend.

Cam Ward | Miami, 25-41, 400 Yds, 5 TDs, 1 Int
At the quarterback position, there are those who play it safe, and then there are the risk-takers. Cam Ward plays with a chip on his shoulder, slicing through defenses with precision. Three of his touchdown passes went to Xavier Restrepo, who became the Hurricanes’ all-time receiving leader. When you set aside the forced turnovers, Ward is an elite quarterback. So, the question becomes: is Miami the team to beat in the ACC?

Kurtis Rourke | Indiana, 19-29, 263 Yds, 4 TDs
One word describes this guy: surgical. Kurtis Rourke led the way as Indiana kept its unbeaten streak alive, making all the right plays at just the right moments. Even when he misses a throw, he stays calm, adjusts, and finds his rhythm again. He’s a deadeye on in-breaking routes, and the offense thrived on his mastery of the RPO game and the slant route.

Jaxson Dart | Ole Miss, 25-31, 515 Yds, 6 TDs
It’s no secret—Jaxson Dart is as advertised. He’s a gamer. This is the level of performance I expect from him on a regular basis . He completed passes all over the field and proved he’s as talented as anyone at the position. This week, he showed he can stay consistent and protect the football, which is exactly what you want to see from a quarterback of his caliber.

X-Factor:
LaNorris Sellers | South Carolina, 13-27, 244 Yds, 2 TDs, 15 carries, 106 yards, and 1 touchdown
LaNorris Sellers has developed right before our eyes, and it’s a joy to watch. He’s exceptionally talented and dynamic—South Carolina struck gold with him. Texas A&M blitzed on more than 40% of their plays, but Sellers stayed composed, throwing two touchdowns under pressure. His impact on the ground was huge as well, running through a defender for a crucial first down in the third quarter. Sellers is the real deal.

Kevin Jennings | SMU, 17-25, 306 Yds, 2 TDs
Kevin Jennings is a rare gem. Facing #23 Pittsburgh, he rose to the challenge, displaying his arm talent and pinpoint accuracy, even while throwing off-platform. Most importantly, he made smart decisions and kept the offense in rhythm, proving he’s the steady hand under center.

What’s Next?
More standout performances. There are a few matchups of Top 25 teams that I look forward to. We have some very good quarterbacks taking the field next week.
