Which NFL Players Would Make Good College General Managers?

With Maxx Crosby becoming assistant GM at Eastern Michigan, here are five other NFL players who could greatly help their school

With yesterday’s news that Maxx Crosby would become the assistant general manager at Eastern Michigan, it made me think about other current players who could help their program. The elite programs generally don’t need the extra help, but here are a few player/school combinations that could work.

Lamar Jackson – Louisville

The Cardinals seem to have already righted the ship with the return of Jeff Brohm as head coach. But adding someone like Jackson to the front office would be another enormous boost to the program. Aside from his obvious excellence in the NFL, he is also one of the most popular players in the league.

T.J. Watt – Wisconsin

Things aren’t heading in the right direction for head coach Luke Fickell and the Badgers. So, bringing back a former player like Watt, who symbolized everything that Wisconsin football used to be, might be the jolt that recruiting and the program needs.

Josh Allen – Wyoming

Wyoming needs to find a way to get Allen more involved in the program. The current NFL MVP is popular, likeable and has the personality to help the Cowboys navigate today’s NIL minefield.

George Kittle – Iowa

Can it ever get boring to win and make a bowl game every year? If it is possible, then it is Iowa. An energetic boost to the program would be a nice addition, which is exactly what Kittle would bring. Known for his energetic and fun-loving personality, he would bring excitement to Iowa City.

Jordan Love – Utah State

The Aggies have established themselves as a solid program since 2011 but have only gone 16-22 over the last three seasons. Getting someone like Love, who has become a name in the NFL, could help the program get back to more consistent winning.
