In today’s Fact or Fiction — NFL Draft edition — I look at three big recent topics around the NFL Draft and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Stanford’s Tanner McKee is the next best QB after Hendon Hooker.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I like McKee. Like most Stanford QBs, he’s smart, mature, and ready to lead. But also, like most Stanford QBs in recent years (Andrew Luck is not recent years) he’s old by NFL standards as a rookie, he doesn’t have a huge sample size to evaluate (23 games with a run-heavy offense), and he’s an enigma of sorts. BYU’s Jaren Hall and UCLA’s Dorian Thompson-Robinson are more likely to be the QB after Hooker in round two or three.

2. Round two IOL value is as high as it’s been in years.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Some of these guys could fall to round two and I think all will have very good NFL careers — Cyrus O’Torrence from Florida, Joe Tippmann from Wisconsin, John Michael Schmitz from Minnesota, and Steve Avila from TCU are all likely round two selections, and teams like the NY Jets, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears, and Seattle Seahawks all have to be smiling. This is a really deep IOL draft, and some of these guys are going to be All-Pros.

3. Drew Sanders should be a round one pick.
Farrell’s take: FACT
I love Sanders, and I know linebackers aren’t at a premium in round one for some reason but to me, if I’m a linebacker-needy team like the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers, or Buffalo Bills, I’m tempted. The Vikings at 23 or the Bills at 29 should take a long look, and the Broncos and 49ers might want to trade into the late first round. Someone can hope he slides to round two, and he might, but to me, he’s worth a first rounder.
