In today’s Fact or Fiction NFL Draft edition I look at three big recent topics around the NFL Draft and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. T’Vondre Sweat fell out of round two with his DWI.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

It’s a weak DT class overall and someone will go on Sweat in round two despite the bonehead move of getting arrested weeks before the biggest moment of his life. I have Sweat as an early round-two kid and even if he slides, it won’t be to the middle of round two at worst.

Texas Longhorns defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat (93) celebrates a sack against TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Josh Hoover (10) in the first quarter of an NCAA college football game, Saturday, November. 11, 2023, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.

2. The Jets will go Brock Bowers instead of OT.

Farrell’s take: FACT

The Jets should probably go OL, especially with a great OT class to protect Aaron Rodgers but I bet they can’t resist taking a weapon for Rodgers in Bowers. The drop-off after Bowers at TE in this draft is precipitous while it’s a deep OT class so my thinking is they go Bowers at No. 10 and address tackle after that.

Georgia tight end Brock Bowers (19) celebrates after scoring a touchdown during the second half of a NCAA college football game against Ole Miss in Athens, Ga., on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. Georgia won 52-17.

3. Marvin Harrison Jr. slides to No. 5.

Farrell’s take: FACT

The talk is now that someone will trade up to No. 4 with the Cardinals to take a QB so that will be picks 1-4 at QB, sliding Harrison Jr. down to five, and giving the LA Chargers and Jim Harbaugh an interesting decision to make. The Chargers love LSU WR Malik Nabers and never expected Harrison Jr. to be around but now they could get the pick of the two.

Nov 4, 2023; Piscataway, New Jersey, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (18) catches a touchdown pass against Rutgers Scarlet Knights defensive back Robert Longerbeam (7) during the second half at SHI Stadium.
