[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image source=”featured_image” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]We continue to roll out the first-round NFL Draft grades for certain teams and the Atlanta Falcons are up next.

8. Drake London, WR, USC

Drake London may very well be the best contested-catch player in this entire draft class. The top four receivers on most boards – Drake London, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and Jameson Williams – all play the position in very different ways. For most teams, identifying their top receiver was based solely on fit and what the offense needed. And the Falcons will need London to be able to recover from his ankle injury before the season starts, as they will be without Calvin Ridley all season due to his suspension by the league for gambling. Their biggest need was getting a receiver who can make tough catches in short-yardage situations in order to keep the chains moving. London fits this to a T. While he was my 4th overall receiver, he is likely the best fit out of the top guys for the Atlanta system. He does struggle to get significant separation, and I’m not convenient he has the speed or acceleration to be the top receiver from the 2022 class 5 years from now. Overall, a decent pickup and a good fit here.
