2. Aidan Hutchinson, DE, Michigan
Hutch was my top overall prospect in this draft. Other than maybe some slight immobility of his hips and some below-average arms, he has virtually no weaknesses. He is an explosive player with great speed, strength, and a high motor. The Lions getting their hometown kid at two is as good of a pick as you’ll find in this draft. He’s a day 1 starter who will raise the floor of the struggling Lions' defense. If he stays healthy, his floor is a high-quality starter, and at his ceiling, he could be a perennial All-Pro EDGE in Detroit. Excellent pick, a no-brainer to most.
Grade: Easy A+
12. Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama
The Lions traded up 20 spots to take Williams here at 12. Jameson is my 1st overall receiver on my player board. I suspect that had he not torn his ACL in the championship game, he likely would have been the first WR off the board. He is a constant deep threat and an explosive playmaker. Commonly draws a double team in coverage. When teams fail to double him they practically give away points. Will be some concerns if he can get back to his top speed given his injury, but recent reports say he’s already running, and his rehab is far ahead of schedule. Great pick here by the Lions.
