Now that the 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone, the reviews are
popping up everywhere. Also the organizations are hopeful that their
selections will pan out in the future. You have your no-doubt first
rounders, but who is the most intriguing? Here I name mine for
every division, starting with the AFC North.
1. Baltimore Ravens
Round 6 (No. 203): WR LaJohntay Wester, Colorado
Fast and twitchy are the first two traits that come to mind
whenever you speak on Wester. While he is on the smaller side
along with being a late round pick, his talent will exceed
those narratives. All he does is get open and catch everything that
comes his way. He is also a big play waiting to happen in the
passing game as well as the return game. A player with his
versatility and spark will certainly be welcomed in that wide
receiver room.

2. Cincinnati Bengals
Round 4 (No. 119): LB Barrett Carter, Clemson
Coming off a season where he earned third-team All-
American along with being named a finalist for the Butkus Award
(nation’s top LB), Carter was a absolute steal in my eyes for
Cincinnati. He plays linebacker the exact way you would think and
expect.

Smart, tough and physical all pop out when you watch him
play. He will make an immediate impact on special teams, and with
the way the Bengals defense performed last season, he will be a
welcomed face on that side as well.

3. Cleveland Browns
Round 5 (No. 144): QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
Never has there ever been a more talked about player before,
during or after the draft more than Sanders. Yes his
father is Deion Sanders, which comes with a lot press, whether it’s
positive or negative, but what we witnessed was unprecedented. For more than a year he was projected as one of the top two quarterbacks to
go in the draft along with Cam Ward, and for good reason when you
put up the numbers he did along with the tape to match. There were
even talks of him being the top pick at one point. While that might be
true, he unfortunately somehow dropped all the way to the fifth round. He now joins a crowded QB room, but with his talent and
work ethic he can reverse the narrative of his character and let his
play show.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers
Round 3 (No. 83): RB Kaleb Johnson, Iowa
Not a big name by any means, but that may very well change
quickly. The Iowa star was by far one of the best running back
prospects in this draft. Just last season he ran for more than 1,500 yards
along with 21 touchdowns in route to being named a second-team
AP All-American, and a finalist for the Doak Walker Award (nation’s
top RB). Johnson is as smooth as they come with excellent feet and
vision. Despite what some say, he has more than enough speed to
take it all the way as well. With Najee Harris now on the Los Angeles Chargers, he has a pathway to be the man.
