Every prospect coming to Indianapolis to perform has some
talent, the reason they were invited, but some seem
to rise above most. It could be a top prospect or the next Mr. Irrelevant,
but the things they do pop off of the screen in a major way. Let’s
take a look at some prospects who impressed.

1. WR Xavier Worthy, Texas

Height and Weight: 6’1″/172 lbs

Coming into the event everyone who has seen any tape on
Xavier Worthy knows he can take the top off of the defense in a hurry, but I
don’t think many expected him to do what he did. Not only did he
run a blazing 40-yard dash, but he would end up setting the record
with a time of 4.21 seconds. His stock will most certainly shoot up.

2. DT Braden Fiske, Florida State

Height and Weight: 6’4″/292 lbs

In his only season at Florida State after transferring in
from Western Michigan, all Braden Fiske did was wreak havoc. He has brute strength which allows him to maneuver
opponents wherever he wants, but his main attribute just may be his
speed and quickness. For a man pushing 300 pounds, he should not move
as swiftly as he does. He ended up running a 4.78 40-yard dash
along with an explosive 33.5” inch vertical jump just for good measure.
He shouldn’t make it past round two.

Braden Fiske had this one coach shook 🤣

3. QB Joe Milton III, Tennessee

Height and Weight: 6’5″/236 lbs

For Joe Milton III, his entire career has been an up-and-down
rollercoaster. He originally started at Michigan
before transferring to Tennessee to find greater pastures, which he
would end up doing. He has a cannon for an arm, which he showed
off by having the hardest throw out of everyone along with
launching two 70-yard bombs on the money during field work.

With that being said, he is by far the most physically gifted QB in
the entire draft. Now does that mean he will be a serviceable player?
Not necessarily. One thing we do all know is that he improved
year in and year out, and if someone can mold him he will be a steal.

4. OT Amarius Mims, Georgia

Height and Weight: 6’7″/340 lbs

SIZE. That is the keyword with Mr. Mims as he is a
massive human being. You could easily mistake him for a Center or
Power Forward in the NBA, but his strengths are made for the
football field. While he is massive, he wears the weight very well along with being an
amazing athlete for his size.

His arm length of 36 1/8″ along with 11 1/4″ hands are
abnormal, but the most eye-popping stat was his short shuttle. He
would record a time of 4.33 seconds which put him second out of everyone.
With his size, athleticism, and quickness, he should rise up many
boards.

5. WR Brian Thomas Jr., LSU

Height and Weight: 6’3″/209 lbs

Coming into the season Brian Thomas Jr., was an
afterthought to the nation, but everyone down in Baton Rouge knew
they had something special waiting in the wings. Once Thomas Jr. did finally get his chance, he surely didn’t disappoint. It’s hard to be noticed
when playing on the other side of a top WR in the country,
but that’s exactly what he did.

He finished the season with 68 receptions for 1,177 yards and a
nation-leading 17 touchdowns. He would bring that production to
the combine and reassure everyone that it was no fluke. With his
size along with his freakish athleticism, he was expected to test well, but I don’t think anyone saw him ruining a blazing 4.33. That along with having
great hands should put him no lower than round two if not earlier.

Brian Thomas Jr. stole the show at the NFL Combine.

Key Numbers:
4.34 40-yard dash
22.91 mph top speed

Organizations met with:
– Texans
– Bills
– Cowboys
– Bengals
– 49ers
– Patriots
– Etc.
