The Best Defensive Tackle Values from the 2023 Draft

Mike Farrell breaks down why Siaki Ika, Kobie Turner, and others are the best DT values from the draft

It’s not always the biggest names that are key to the NFL Draft. There’s a thing called value and here are some valuable picks at positions. Here are the top five DT values.

1. Siaki Ika, Cleveland Browns

— He’s massive and reminds me some of Vita Vea, so landing him as a third round value is key. He could be a run stuffer but also a big who can chase.

Nov 19, 2022; Waco, Texas, USA; TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Max Duggan (15) is brought down by Baylor Bears defensive lineman Siaki Ika (62) during the second half at McLane Stadium.

2. Calijah Kancey, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

— First rounders don’t often make this list, but I love this pick for Tampa Bay, as he would have been snapped up quickly as they passed. He’s not Aaron Donald from Pitt, but he’s the next great undersized DT the Panthers will have produced.

Hendon Hooker (5) of the Tennessee Volunteers gets sacked by Calijah Kancey (8) of the Pittsburgh Panthers during the second half at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA on Spetmebr 10, 2022.

3. Zacch Pickens, Chicago Bears

— I didn’t like the Bears first couple of picks, but I like this second rounder. He’s an elite athlete who underachieved a bit in college but has round one potential.

Mar 2, 2023; Indianapolis, IN, USA; South Carolina defensive lineman Zacch Pickens (DL12) participates in the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.

4. Dante Stills, Arizona Cardinals

— Sixth round? Stills is a solid player and was regularly productive in college, so I expected him higher.

Mar 2, 2023; Indianapolis, IN, USA; West Virginia defensive lineman Dante Stills (DL17) participates in the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.

5. Kobie Turner, LA Rams

— A round three value not many know, Turner is a heckuva player and has good quicks for a big man.
