Big news came out of Athens yesterday when running back Trevor Etienne changed his mind and decided to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. After word broke a couple weeks ago that he had decided to return to the Dawgs for the 2025 season, he posted to Instagram yesterday thanking both Georgia and Florida, and then stated his intentions to enter the Draft.

Etienne is the younger brother of former Clemson and current Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne. He is from Louisiana and originally committed to the University of Florida. He hit the transfer portal after last season and ended up committing to Georgia, where he made a huge impact in both of Georgia’s wins vs Texas. Overall, Etienne had a good season despite battling nagging injuries and working in an offensive system that utilizes multiple running backs.

Oct 19, 2024; Austin, Texas, USA; Georgia Bulldogs running back Trevor Etienne (1) runs the ball against the Texas Longhorns during the first half at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

In his two seasons with the Gators, Trevor put up 1,472 yards on 249 carries and added 14 touchdowns. In his lone year with Georgia, he had 609 yards on 122 carries and found the end zone 9 times. Etienne helped through the air as well, accumulating 62 receptions, 432 yards, and a touchdown. In the two games vs Texas this past season, Etienne had 35 attempts for 181 yards and 4 touchdowns.

I wish the Georgia running back nothing but the best, he helped Georgia in a lot of ways, including helping win an SEC Championship. He was key in securing the comeback win after QB Carson Beck was forced out due to injury at halftime. Etienne was good at both Florida and Georgia, and I truly believe he can succeed at the next level. He is quick and has very good vision. I can’t wait to see him make an impact for somebody in the NFL.
