This year’s quarterback class for the 2025 NFL Draft is down compared to last year’s. Led by Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, six quarterbacks were drafted in the first round in 2024. This year’s class will not have six drafted in the first, but you could have as many as three quarterbacks drafted in round one. Below is a breakdown of all the quarterbacks and where they are likely to be drafted.
After months of speculation, the consensus around the league is that the #Titans will stay at No. 1 and pick, rather than trade, sources say. No surprise. Decision made.

There was real trade interest. But as one team said, “They never opened the door.” All eyes on Cam Ward. pic.twitter.com/tQiCZQtRzy
Cam Ward, Miami
Ward is the easiest one. He is projected to go first to Tennessee. Ward has a chance to be a good quarterback for a long time in the NFL. Most NFL teams love his skill set, and they think he has a chance to be a good starting quarterback in the NFL.
Where he be selected: No. 1 Tennessee

* Yes the Knicks should be concerned
* Giants are desperate entering the draft

Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
Sanders has been projected from the second overall pick to the end of the first round. Sanders is one of the most debated players in this draft because the NFL is unsure of his accuracy and athleticism. He is an excellent pocket quarterback, but needs some time to develop overall as a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Where he be selected: As early as No. 9 to the New Orleans Saints, and toward the end of the first round, where the Pittsburgh Steelers could take him at No. 21, or a quarterback-needy team like the Cleveland Browns or New York Giants could trade up to get him.

Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
Dart is a climber in this NFL draft, where most people have started to believe in him as a long-term option as a starting quarterback. He has elite athleticism and projects as someone who can be used as a runner. The biggest knock on him is that he can develop into a consistent enough passer in the pocket.
Where he be selected: Similar to Sanders, Dart could go as early as No. 9 to the Saints or could fall to the end of the first round.

He told me that the best pure thrower of the football in this draft is Tyler Shough" ~ @PSchrags#PMSLive pic.twitter.com/WJtC5CIODM
Tyler Shough, Lousiville
Shough has been a stock riser during the draft process because he is a natural thrower of the football. The two concerns about him are his age and playing time. He was injured multiple times in college and has barely played football. He is also 25 years old. Shough has a chance, if he stays healthy, to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
Where he be selected: He is a day two pick and could go as high as the first pick in the second round to the Browns.
.@danorlovsky7 believes Jalen Milroe has the highest ceiling of any QB in the 2025 NFL draft 👀 pic.twitter.com/kJf5TvK0ru
— NFL on ESPN (@ESPNNFL) April 22, 2025
Jalen Milroe, Alabama
Milroe is one of the most divisive players in this draft. He is a dual-threat quarterback who is a great athlete. He is a good runner who has elite running skills. He also throws a good deep ball. He struggles with accuracy and needs a lot of work on his mechanics. Whoever drafts him knows that he has a ton of work to be a good quarterback in the NFL.
Where he be selected: Even though he was invited to the NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wis., he should be drafted as a day two selection not in the first round. Someone who takes him believes in his traits, but he needs a lot of work.
🚨NEWS: Ohio State quarterback Will Howard says that #NFL teams that pass on drafting him “WILL REGRET IT.”

“Every single team that picks a quarterback in front of me, I’m going to make it my mission to make sure that they regret not picking me.”

Will Howard, Ohio State
Howard had a great four-game run for Ohio State when they won all their College Football Playoff games en route to a national championship. The issue with Howard is that he was playing with elite talent at Ohio State. He is a big, physical quarterback, but he needs to work on his consistency as a quarterback.
Where he be selected: He will probably be selected in the back half of day two at the end of the third round.

Quinn Ewers, Texas
Ewers had an up-and-down senior season at Texas. He lacks consistency as a thrower of the football. He is a talented quarterback, though that initially projects as a backup quarterback in the NFL. With some proper coaching and developing, he could be a first round pick in the NFL Draft.
Where he be selected: He looks like a day three pick somewhere in the fourth or fifth rounds.

Riley Leonard, Notre Dame
Leonard is a good runner who played a lot of football at Duke and Notre Dame. He lacks consistency as a passer and projects as a backup quarterback at the next level.
Where he be selected: He is another day three pick that looks like he is a backup and might eventually get a chance to start.
Kyle McCord, Syracuse
McCord had a good year for Syracuse after transferring from Ohio State. He is a classic pocket passer who has generated some buzz in the NFL draft. He still projects as a backup quarterback in the NFL.
Where he be selected: He is another day three selection.
Kurtis Rourke, Indiana
Rourke transferred from Ohio to Indiana and helped lead to the CFP and a historic season for Indiana. He is a good pocket quarterback who projects as a backup quarterback in the NFL.
Where he be selected: He is projected as a day three selection or undrafted.
