In today’s Fact or Fiction — NFL Draft edition — I look at three big recent topics around the NFL Draft and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. QB Pro Days are overrated.
Farrell’s take: FACT
I just can’t stand all the hyperbole surrounding QB Pro Days. The talking heads always talk about how amazing a QB looked and on and on. And guess what? Half of these QBs stink in the NFL. Remember Zach Wilson’s “amazing” Pro Day workout and his final off-platform throw that wowed scouts? He’s awful. And we all knew he would be. So while it’s important to see these guys in person to gauge arm velocity, release, footwork and such, it’s still routes on air. And that’s nothing to get excited about.

2. CJ Stroud’s strengths are more important than Bryce Young’s.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Stroud has more size, and he’s more accurate. Those are, to me, his strengths when compared to Bryce Young. Stroud throws receivers open very well, although I don’t think he’s exceptionally rare in that area, and of course, he’s much bigger than Young. But Young has a rare, and I mean rare, pocket presence and vision, and despite his lack of size, I like his strengths better. Because when it comes down to it, the NFL is how you perform under pressure, and I think Young has that rare ability to be unflappable.

3. Marvin Harrison Jr. would be a top-five pick this year.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Even more than Stroud, scouts raved about the sophomore wide receiver at Ohio State more than anyone else. While he’s not eligible until next year’s NFL Draft, people I spoke to said he would easily be the No. 1 wide receiver in this year’s draft if he was eligible, and someone would trade up to land him. Now let’s remember the same hype was around for Jaxon Smith-Njigba last year after his amazing finish to the season, but injuries hurt him. But Harrison is bigger, rarer, and I can’t see any fall off, even if he gets injured.
