Fact or Fiction

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”3749″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

No one in the Big Ten will threaten Ohio State in 2023 class

Farrell’s take: FACT

I like what Penn State is doing early in 2023 for sure and what they did in 2022 and we know Michigan will be solid, but let’s be real — no one can touch the Buckeyes in 2023 and likely beyond. The Buckeyes not only continue to land local talent but they can go to Florida and pull a RB like Mark Fletcher and WR Bryson Rodgers. It’s just not fair to the rest of the Big Ten honestly.

Jalen Milroe could start for half the SEC

Farrell’s take: FACT

We think about Bryce Young. We think about Ty Simpson. And we think about Arch Manning. But why don’t we think about Milroe as much? He’s the next great QB at Alabama and we saw signs of that this weekend and he’d start for the following SEC teams — LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and probably others. It just speaks to how ridiculous the depth at Alabama really is.

Texas Tech’s fast start is an aberration

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Joey McGuire is a Texas legend. He recruited well at Baylor and he will do the same at Texas Tech so I’m not surprised to see so many four stats committed to the Red Raiders this early in the process. And three of them — DE Isaiah Crawford, DB Calvin Thompson-Hunt and DB Brenden Jordan are on the defensive side of things which is key. Keep an eye on Texas Tech as the Big 12 changes over the next few years. McGuire will improve the talent a lot.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
