In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Aggies recruiting class is the best ever.

The word ever is used too often. And based simply on my opinion and not a mathematical formula I’ve been linked to for ages, I don’t have them No. 1 overall. So who is? On paper it’s the 2017 Alabama class with Najee Harris, Jerry Jeudy, Alex Leatherwood, Tua Tagovailoa, Henry Ruggs, DeVonta Smith, Jedrick Wills, Mac Jones, Dylan Moses and others. It was the consensus No. 1 class in the country that year and to me it was the best collection of talent I’ve ever seen in one class. The addition of re-classified DE Lebbious Overton to the 2022 Texas A&M class is amazing with all the other talent they have, but it’s not the best ever.

2. Kyle Hamilton slides outside the Top 10.

Farrell’s take: FACT
His 40 time was slower than many expected at the combine when he checked in at 4.59 but reports of a 4.7 at his Pro Day have doomed him as a top 10 pick. Some, like me, had him at No. 3 to the Texans before the combine and he slid back a bit after an average appearance in Indy. But now? He’s in for a long slide despite the amazing game film.

3. NY Giants are in best position of anyone in round one.

Farrell’s take: FACT

I love where the NY Giants are positioned in round one — at pick No. 5 and pick No. 7. Why? Because most likely they will be able to get an elite EDGE and an elite OT two big needs. One of Travon Walker, Aidan Hutchinson or Kayvon Thibodeaux should be available at No. 5 barring a surprise and Ickey Ekwonu will probably be there at No. 7. Ok I know what you’re saying. Walker, Hutchinson and Thibodeaux could go 1, 2 and 3 in this draft and there’s also no assurance Evan Neal and Ekwonu will be around at No. 7. But they will get one of these five players, that’s assured and even if the guy they want at pick No. 7 isn’t there they can trade back and still get early value. They can’t screw this up right?
