In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Ravens will go defense in round one of the NFL Draft.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Let’s face it, while the Ravens have offensive needs at wide receiver and along the offensive line, this will be a defensive pick at No. 14. Why? Because that’s the way things tend to work in a defensive draft. Yes I know they drafted players like Lamar Jackson, Marquise Brown, Ronnie Stanley and others in round one in recent years but they’ve also focused on defense with Patrick Queen, Jayson Oweh, Marlon Humphrey, CJ Mosley, Matt Elam and others. And this is certainly a defensive draft. There are needs along the defensive line and at cornerback and if a player like Derrick Stingley Jr. or Jordan Davis are there at 14, they will pounce. If they don’t go defense it will likely be offensive line but there are so many elite DT and EDGE talents that would be hard to pass up and Stingley Jr. would be a no brainer.

2. Jim Harbaugh working with Colin Kaepernick will help recruiting.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Harbaugh coached Kaepernick with the 49ers all the way to the Super Bowl and having him throw recently at Michigan in front of scouts was a nice gesture. We all know Kaepernick has been blackballed from the NFL for his activist nature and Harbaugh’s assistance will go over well with potential recruits interested in similar activism. It’s not a game changer but I think it’s a good gesture to show his loyalty to players.

3. Gators are the team to beat for Treyaun Webb

Farrell’s take: FACT

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

A recent visit from the talented RB/ATH has Gators fans excited and they should be. I think the Gators lead here and it doesn’t hurt that his cousin, Dee Webb, was there with him as a former Gator. He’s not ready to decide right now but if I had to predict today it would be Florida for the 4 star.
