In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

We will see five trades inside the Top 10 between now and Draft Day.

Farrell’s take: FICTION. I wanted to think of what the over/under would be on trades inside the top 10 for the NFL Draft after the Saints and Eagles trade (which wasn’t a Top 10 trade) and came up with five. And that’s a huge number so I’m going under. But four is a possibility and that’s with no elite quarterbacks in the draft. Why? This is a strong EDGE and OT draft at the top and if you want Malik Willis or another QB you’d probably have to move into the Top 10 as well. So with the NY Giants and NY Jets with two picks in the top 10 and the Carolina Panthers with a top 10 but not a ton of draft capital for the next two rounds I could see those teams trading back. No. 2, No. 6, No. 7 and No. 10 to me are all up for grabs so it will be short of five but could be as high as four.

Alabama will finish No. 1 for 2023.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Why not? Texas A&M won last season in most places and Georgia the years before that so Nick Saban is due. He’s off to a good start with two very good four stars in Jhalil Hurley and Elliott Washington and I hear Alabama as much as any other team early for 2023. Arch Manning will be important for them but the state of Alabama is loaded for 2023 so watch for Alabama to return to the top.

Ohio State has the best offense for next season.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Bryce Young is amazing but with Agiye Hall no longer with the team and a new running back needing to take over, this is a no brainer for Ohio State. CJ Stroud is a top 3 QB next season, Treyveon Henderson is a top 2 RB and Jaxon Smith-Njigba leads an amazingly deep wide receiver group. The offensive line should be solid as well and I can’t think of the No. 2 offense right now but OSU is No. 1.
