In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Bo Nix coming back makes the Ducks the favorite in PAC 12.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Caleb Williams still exists and the Trojans will kill it in the portal again to fill needs more on the offensive and defensive line this time. And Utah is pretty damned good too. Oregon will be much better with Nix than without but a couple of ugly losses could still be in store.

2. Billy Napier is under pressure.

Farrell’s take: FACT

He’s not going to be fired — this year. But Gators fans and boosters aren’t forgiving at all and this is why I said this isn’t a great hire. A big name would get as much time as needed to right the ship but Napier will receive no grace period. Heck, if Dan Mullen was on the outs a year after nearly winning the SEC title game what happens with Napier? 6-7 doesn’t go over well and they lost to horrible Vanderbilt, rival FSU and were owned by a good Oregon State team that fans think they should have beaten and here we are. Another 6-7 season and he will be on that hot seat.

3. Deion Sanders could be in over his head.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Just because he lost to end his HBCU season at Jackson State is no reason to panic but I will say this — Deion had a roster much better than anyone else’s this season and he still didn’t finish the season right. So what happens in Colorado where it will take a couple of years to put together a roster with more talent than most of his scheduled opponents? Remember this is a 1-11 football team. If Deion can’t do it with the deck stacked for him how will he go better than 6-6 at best for two seasons in the PAC 12?
