Fact or Fiction: Cormani McClain, Louisville, Arch

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

1. Alabama is out for DB Cormani McClain

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Recruiting is funny right? The Gators were the team to beat then it was all Alabama and now many think it’s Florida and Miami. But trust me when I say this, Alabama is in this and in a big way. I still have the Gators winning this battle in the end but Nick Saban gets what he wants more often than not so keep an eye on them.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

Louisville is the sleeping giant in the ACC.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Watch out. The addition of coach John Herron to the recruiting office has changed the landscape of Louisville recruiting, and they are now a serious danger not only in South Florida, where he made his reputation but nationally. Scott Satterfield needs to have a good season, but trust me when I tell you the new level of recruiting and landing players like Reuben Owens, Pierce Clarkson, and most recently, Miami standouts Stanquan Clark and William Fowles gives Satterfield a lot more internal support than people realize. Louisville could be very dangerous in a couple of years.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

Arch Manning won’t fall from No. 1 again

Farrell’s take: FACT

ESPN did it and made USC commit Malachi Nelson No. 1 and rightly so and now Rivals has Dante Moore, another No. 1 candidate, up to No. 2 but I don’t think Manning will drop off of No. 1 for Rivals, 247, or On3. There are many things that play into this including his name, a lack of evaluation opportunities, and more. I don’t see him playing in any all-star game, and he will have a great season against awful competition, so he’s locked in at No. 1. I come out with my QB rankings soon, and he’s not No. 1 there. In fact, he’s not even close.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
