In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Georgia is an underdog to win it all again.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I keep seeing this being written, and it makes me laugh. Find me a poll where the Dawgs aren’t No. 1? I know it’s been forever since a team won three straight national championships but from polls to betting odds to everything else, Georgia is the hands-on favorite. No one is sleeping on them so the fan base can just zip it.

2. LSU has the best QB room in the SEC.
Farrell’s take: FACT
With Jayden Daniels leading the way, followed by super-talented Garrett Nussmeier, it’s clear that LSU has the best 1-2 punch and QB room. In fact, figuring out who is second is more interesting. Ole Miss? I like Jaxson Dart, Spencer Sanders, and Walker Howard as a group but Dart needs to step up big time. Texas A&M? I like Connor Weigman, and Max Johnson is solid behind him and a case can be made for Mississippi State with Will Rogers and Mike Wright. And, of course, Tennessee fans will chime in with Joe Milton taking over for Hendon Hooker and freshman Nico Iamaleava coming in with so much hype.

3. Jalon Daniels is being slept on.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Jayden Daniels, as you see above, gets a lot of love, but he’s technically not even the most efficient QB named Daniels in college football. Kansas QB Jalon Daniels returns as the QBR leader in the country after an amazing season last year, and when he went down with an injury, so did the amazing story of Kansas. Daniels is back after a season where he threw for 18 TDs against only four interceptions while completing 66% of his passes. He also rushed for more than 400 yards and seven more scores, and he can make a case as the best returning QB in the Big 12, although few seem to give him that respect.
