In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Malachi Moore should be suspended.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Moore is saying all the right things now and as a two-time captain he’s clearly not a bad kid. But something needs to be done about his actions at the end of the Vanderbilt loss. Shoving the QBs head into the ground, attempting to injure a couple of times, kicking the ball and having a tantrum is a bad look. And it’s a worse look for new coach Kalen DeBoer to let it slide. He won’t be suspended but he should at least have to sit out a half or something to show some discipline.
2. There will not be an undefeated team this season.
Farrell’s take: FACT
This is gonna be one of those years with no dominant team and numerous No. 1 programs. Texas won’t run the table, Miami is living on borrowed time, the Big Ten will begin to cannibalize this weekend and I don’t see a G5 team with a chance. It’s going to make the 12 team playoff even more amazing.

3. Lincoln Riley should be on the hot seat.
Farrell’s take: FACT
This isn’t working. 11-3 turned into 8-5 and now it’s 3-2 with losses to very average Michigan and Minnesota teams. Riley is 22-10 which is worse than Clay Helton’s start. Riley is making more than $10 million a year for this? The biggest issues — being physical and play in the trenches — haven’t improved.
