Fact or Fiction - Malachi Nelson

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

Malachi Nelson will flip to Texas A&M

Farrell’s take: FICTION

It’s dangerous for any commitment to take a visit elsewhere and we know the prowess of Jimbo Fisher and NIL in College Station but I don’t see a flip here. The NIL opportunity in LA is amazing, this is a player who wanted to go to Oklahoma for Lincoln Riley and then flipped to USC when Riley bolted and now we’re supposed to think he’ll play for Fisher? Unless there’s been some rift I’m not aware of (and there isn’t) I think this is a trip with a friend to check out what the Aggies have to offer.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

Oklahoma isn’t missing a beat with Brent Venables

Farrell’s take: FACT

The Sooners are doing well on the recruiting trail. Some say better than old coach Lincoln Riley but I’ll pump the brakes on that one as USC recruiting is excellent and is about to head to ridiculous proportions. But any small concerns I had about the ability to recruit elite players nationally at OU are gone. And the offensive recruiting is just fine. In fact, you could make an argument that defensive recruiting is up a notch because of Venables and that could be the missing ingredient. Since July 4 OU has landed recruits from Florida, Washington, North Carolina, Missouri and Texas. That’s a good sign.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

Gators fans can chill a bit

Farrell’s take: FACT

I’m not saying this latest string of commitments is the key to a national title for the Gators. But since July 4 Billy Napier and the Gators have landed multiple four star prospects and I love RB Treyaun Webb and DE TJ Searcy and the versatility of ATHs Jakeem Jackson and Eugene Wilson. Fans were all over Napier for slow recruiting and the Gators haven’t come close to what they should be since Urban Meyer, but let’s chill. The man has been on the job less than eight months.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
