Fact or Fiction - DJ Lagway

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image source="featured_image" img_size="large"][vc_column_text]In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

USC leads for DJ Lagway

Farrell’s take: FACT

They just offered the 5-star QB in the 2024 class. He just took a visit there (that’s when they offered). But yet I think they lead. Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Florida are in the mix and he is a Baylor legacy, but something about what USC offers hits different under Lincoln Riley. Lagway told me the visit was a “game changer” and I think they will be tough to beat moving forward.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

Sam Pittman is underpaid

Farrell’s take: FACT

He’s making around $5 million a year now after a well-deserved extension but the Arkansas head coach is still underpaid. Why do I say this? Because in this day and age of the transfer portal and NIL and being in the hardest division known to man, what he’s doing is beyond remarkable. Chad Morris turned this program into the joke of college football and the SEC handed Pittman a ridiculous schedule in a COVID season. And now, a full season removed from that he has Arkansas pushing for a 10 win season? C’mon man. That’s amazing. I’d love $5 million a year but Pittman deserves even more.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Fact or Fiction:

The Ohio State offer is a game changer for Baylor QB commit Austin Novosad

Farrell’s take: FICTION

When Ryan Day offers a quarterback it’s a big deal. He’s become a bit of a quarterback whisperer and the numbers QBs put up with the Buckeyes are ridiculous. So when he offered the Texas 4 star who’s committed to Baylor, eyebrows were raised. But I don’t think they were raised enough by Novosad himself. He may take an official to Ohio State but honestly I think he’s completely locked in to Baylor. A Stanford official is upcoming and that’s always scary because of what they offer academically but the opportunity to be the man at Baylor vs. another 4- or 5-star QB at Ohio State will win out.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
