In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. The best RB in the SEC is at South Carolina.

Farrell’s take: FACT

With so many elite RBs gone, give me a healthy Rocket Sanders at South Carolina as the top dog. I think he shows us what he did during his healthy peak at Arkansas and makes a massive impact in Columbia. Montrell Johnson Jr. at Florida and Jarquez Hunter at Auburn are very good but I’m banking on a big return for Rocket.

2. Jeremiah Smith will be better than Marvin Harrison Jr.

Farrell’s take: FACT

I haven’t ranked many WRs No. 1 overall in all my years but Smith is one of the exceptions and based on spring reports I’m not wrong. He’s just a special talent but so is MHJ so it will be an interesting comparison. Harrison Jr. had an amazing career at Ohio State so it won’t be easy to surpass him but if Smith stays healthy he’s that good. I think he’ll be better.

3. Sherrone Moore will win more than 9 games in year one.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

The schedule isn’t a cupcake like it has been in years past with Texas, Oregon, USC, and of course Ohio State. I see a 9-3 season at best and more likely 8-4. Michigan has lost a ton of talent, especially on offense and while they’ll be very good, anyone who thinks 10 wins is a lock is nuts. There is a lot of pressure on the year one replacement for Jim Harbaugh.

Nov 11, 2023; University Park, Pennsylvania, USA; Michigan Wolverines offensive line coach Sherrone Moore reacts while being interviewed with running back Blake Corum (2) following a game against the Penn State Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium. Michigan won 24-15.
