In today’s Fact or Fiction transfer portal edition I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. DL Williams Nwaneri will be an instant impact player at Nebraska.

Farrell’s take: FACT

His talent is unquestioned as a five star in the 2024 class and his lack of playing time at Mizzou should not be a concern. He will make an immediate impact at Nebraska along a defensive line that loses some talent. He’s a potential freak.

2. Fernando Mendoza is the best QB in the portal.

Farrell’s take: FACT

The Cal QB is raw but he’s also 6-5, has a great arm and can extend the play. He’s not a household name but in portal circles he’s the hottest name out there and will make a difference for a playoff contender.

3. DL Princewill Umanmielen is the best portal commit so far.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Ole Miss is getting a good one but I like two OL commits better so far, one of whom is also heading to Ole Miss. Patrick Kutas from Arkansas is a great pickup for Lane Kiffin and Texas Tech struck gold in OL Hunter Zambrano. Offensive linemen are arguably the most coveted position in the portal each cycle so these are two amazing early gets.
