In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Hudson Card is a step up at QB for Purdue.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Sounds odd right? After all, Aidan O’Connell was pretty darn good and QB whisperer Jeff Brohm is gone. But Card is the real deal despite being outplayed by Casey Thompson and being passed over for Quinn Ewers. Card has completed 65% of his passes in college with 11 TDs and only 2 picks. He’s careful with the ball, smart and he picks up systems well. Graham Harrell knows how to use a player like Card and he will put up big numbers.

2. FSU rules the portal so far.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Michigan has done well, but with the addition of DL Braden Fiske, I have FSU on top. The ‘Noles have done a great job on the OL, have now added DT help, and have two elite tight ends. Mike Norvell has it rolling.

3. The best non-QB in the portal is Dominic Lovett.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Some will say Dorian Singer at USC. Others will say Travis Hunter at Colorado. But the answer is the former Missouri WR. Lovett is an elite slot and ate up UGA, his new team, with 6 catches for 84 yards in a tough loss for the Tigers. His stats may not wow — 56 catches for 846 yards and three scores — but that was on a weak offensive team. He’ll be a star at UGA.
