In today’s Fact or Fiction — Transfer Portal edition — I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Quinshon Judkins starts for Ohio State.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

TreVeyon Henderson came back for good reason and reports are that he’s holding off Judkins for the starting role. Both will get a ton of carries of course but those that felt Judkins would easily surpass Henderson based on his amazing stats in the SEC have been proven wrong.

Nov 19, 2022; College Park, MD, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes running back TreVeyon Henderson (32) carries the ball against Maryland Terrapins in the second quarter of their Big Ten game at SECU Stadium.

2. Dallan Hayden had to go.

Farrell’s take: FACT

With Judkins behind Henderson and a deep depth chart at RB, Hayden had to move on as the Ohio State RB has said he’s entering the portal during the April 15 window. He rushed for more than 500 yards two seasons ago but was limited last year and is third on the depth chart now. Prior to the portal he likely would have waited his turn but that doesn’t happen anymore and a talented kid like this can’t wait any longer. The writing was on the wall when Judkins came on board.

Nov 12, 2022; Columbus, Ohio, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes running back Dallan Hayden (5) runs past Indiana Hoosiers defensive lineman Beau Robbins (41) during the second half of the NCAA football game at Ohio Stadium. Ohio State won 56-14.

3. Hayden will end up at Tennessee.

Farrell’s take: FACT

This is just a guess but his dad played there, he’s from there and he’s shown flashes of high level talent over that last two years. The Vols would be smart to add him with some losses at RB.

Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden has entered the transfer portal, per @mzenitz.

There are Tennessee ties here as he is the son of #VFL Aaron Hayden.

Could be something to watch given Tennessee’s RB depth.
