In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. ‘Bama finishes No. 1 after ESD.

Farrell’s take: FACT

It’s over. OT Kadyn Proctor was unexpected and just adds to an amazing class. They should still close on a couple of in state targets as well and will lead in five stars as usual. Nick Saban just keeps on churning out elite classes.

2. Kadyn Proctor is on portal watch already.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Sounds dumb right? But everyone is on portal watch these days and an Iowa kid heading down to Alabama after a long time commitment to his home state school just screams for a potential two year stay and move back to the Midwest. Of course if he’s successful, as he should be, things could be different but I’m watching these kind of decisions now with an eye on the portal.

3. Auburn will flip DB Tony Mitchell from Alabama instead of Texas A&M.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

I don’t think anyone will. Auburn has the best shot with a late push from Hugh Freeze as he’s don’t a great job and Mitchell has flirted with anyone but I think he stays in this class for the Tide.
