In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. QB Jadyn Davis will pick Michigan.

Farrell’s take: FACT

The North Carolina QB finally announces his decision this week as he will choose between Michigan, UNC, Clemson, Tennessee, and Ohio State on Friday. The Buckeyes and Vols have been out of this for a while now, and while UNC especially made a strong push recently, I’d be stunned if he didn’t pick the Wolverines. He took yet another visit to Ann Arbor recently, continued to establish a great relationship with head coach Jim Harbaugh and hit it off with new QB coach Kirk Campbell. Barring a stunner, he will finally be a Michigan commit.

2. Nebraska is back near the top for Dylan Raiola.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Another visit for the 5-star QB to Lincoln and another good time had. While Georgia and, more recently, USC, have been rumored to be leaders over the span of his recruitment, his family connections to Nebraska are strong. And know this — new head coach Matt Rhule is pulling out all the stops for a commit that could send shockwaves through the 2024 class. I’m not saying Nebraska leads, as I still think Georgia could pull this off if he visits again, but they are back up in the lead group.

3. Jake Merklinger lands at Tennessee.

Farrell’s take: FACT

UNC is in it for the Georgia QB, and UGA could come at him hard if Raiola goes elsewhere, but right now, I think he’s all Vols. The 6-3, 195-pounder loves Josh Heupel and that offense and has a tremendous comfort level in Knoxville. He could pop for the Vols soon.
