Recruiting Fact or Fiction: Top 2025 Class, Bryce Underwood to LSU, Jordan Marshall to OSU
In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. UGA has the top class in 2024 so far.
Farrell’s take: FACT
And it’s not that close. They have a 5-star in Peyton Woodyard, a few on the cusp like DB Ellis Robinson and WR Ny Carr, and a underrated QB in Ryan Puglisi. I have LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Alabama rounding out my top five, but the way things are shaking out for UGA early, they will be hard to top.
2. LSU leads for 2025 QB Bryce Underwood.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Brian Kelly and staff impressed the talented QB from Michigan, but I think Michigan has the edge here still. It’s very early, and he’s only been to a few places, including his recent visit to LSU and a visit to Penn State. But he also took in a visit to watch Michigan beat Michigan State this past season, and Jim Harbaugh as a former QB who works directly with the quarterbacks is intriguing. Again it’s way early, and plenty of visits will occur, but while LSU is in here, I think Michigan and perhaps Ohio State will be hard to beat up north.

3. Ohio State is the team to beat for RB Jordan Marshall.
Farrell’s take: FACT
I’m hearing Tennessee is a real threat here, perhaps even more so than Michigan, but Ohio State is the team to beat and will likely land Marshall in July when he commits. Tony Alford and Brian Hartline are recruiting him for the Buckeyes, and that’s hard to beat. I know some think he picks the Vols, or perhaps Mike Hart pulls him to Michigan, but give me the Buckeyes here.
