With action in the transfer portal slowing down, it is time to take a closer look at how each P4 school did during this cycle. Up now are the Louisville Cardinals
The skinny: Since his return to Louisville, head coach Jeff Brohm has aggressively and successfully used the transfer portal. The Cardinals have also had to deal with some significant player transfers, but during Coach Brohm’s first season back, the positives outweighed the negatives as proven by their 10-4 record. Will this become the norm in Louisville, or will the large annual turnover of players make consistency on the field difficult?

Final thoughts: The Cardinals have made the transfer portal very exciting since Coach Brohm’s return. Once again during this cycle, they experienced some noticeable losses, especially on defense, with DL Tyler Baron, DB Wesley Walker, DL Jermayne Lole and LB Jaylin Alderman all transferring. However, they have had no problems replenishing their roster. On the defensive line, Thor Griffith and Jordan Guerad, were both important gets, while the secondary added valuable pieces like Tamarion McDonald and Tahveon Nicholson. The offense has a chance to be formidable, as long as QB Tyler Shough hits the ground running. Wide receivers Ja’Corey Brooks and Caullin Lacy are both top-level talents, RB Donald Chaney Jr. has impressed since his arrival and made the transfer of Peny Boone understandable, and OL Monroe Mills has All-ACC potential.
