On the eve of National Signing Day, available scholarships continue to be scooped up by transfer players, leaving fewer opportunities for high school stars to further develop their skills at the collegiate level.
RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt
Arizona Wildcats (from New Mexico)
5’11”, 204 lbs.
As a 2nd Team All-Mountain West Conference selection, Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed for 1,190 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging a robust 6.30 yards per carry. Croskey-Merritt recorded four games of 100+yards rushing, including back-to-back games of over 200 yards rushing to finish the season. The 17 touchdowns rank the 3rd highest in conference history.

Six times last season, Croskey-Merritt scored multiple rushing touchdowns. Against Utah State, he rushed for 233 yards and a touchdown and averaged a whopping 7.52 yards per carry. Croskey-Merritt is the first transfer portal commitment for new Arizona head man Brent Brennan.
CB Denver Harris
UTSA Roadrunners (from LSU)
5’11”, 175 lbs.
Denver Harris played only five games for the LSU Tigers in 2023, recording just seven tackles. Harris was part of the much-heralded recruiting class of 2022 of the Texas A&M Aggies.

In his freshman season in College Station, Harris mad 14 tackles and broke up three passes. Harris was rated as a 5-star recruit out of Northshore High School in Houston, TX, ranked as the #4 CB prospect nationally and a Top 25 player, according to the 247Sports Composite.
LB Langston Long
South Florida Bulls (from Virginia)
6’3”, 220 lbs.
With 19 games of college experience under his belt, Langston “Lex” Long has 56 career tackles to his credit. 2022 was his most productive season thus far, as Long recorded 44 tackles, two tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble, and two pass breakups. Long posted a career-high 13 tackles in a 24-3 win over Illinois in 2022.

OL Jalen Klemm
Arizona State Sun Devils (from Washington)
6’5”, 281 lbs.
The coaching carousel continues to affect the national runners-up Washington Huskies. Jalen Klemm will fill a position of need for the Sun Devils and will compete for and probably earn a starting job in Tempe, after holding on to the #2 spot on the depth chart for a Huskies offensive line unit that won the Joe Moore Award as the top offensive line in college football.

Klemm’s father Adrian played in the NFL as an offensive lineman for the Patriots and Packers, and has coached in college for 13 years, and currently is the Associate Head Coach at Oregon.
