Portal - Mims Staying

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="4024" img_size="large"][vc_column_text]A nice Easter gift was left in Athens as former 5-star prospect Amarius Mims will return to Georgia.

Mims entered his name into the portal about two weeks ago. It looked like Georgia was going to lose out on a great talent. This because he wanted to play tackle and they tried to push him inside. On Monday, shocking news broke that he had removed his name from the portal and decided to stay with the team.

While at Georgia Amarius Mims has appeared in seven games as a reserve offensive lineman. Mims was one of the most sought-after players in the portal. He did decided to take a trip to Florida State. It looked like he was headed to Tallahassee but had a change of heart. He was being heavily pursued by Miami although they were never able to get him on campus. He would have been a big addition for the Noles or Canes. Mims is expected to be a multi-year starter for the Bulldogs. Kirby Smart is fortunate to get the 6'7 330 lineman back.

Not only will the former five-star be back with Georgia but this is a big recruiting win over the Florida schools. As big of a win as this was for Georgia it’s equally as big of a loss for both Florida schools, it’s rare a great talent at such a coveted position becomes available.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
