The Sun Devils lost starting Quarterback Jayden Daniels to Brian Kelly at LSU so replacing him was crucial if the Sun Devils want to be taken seriously in the Pac-12 and Jones has potential.
Emory Jones is a 6-foot-3, 195- pound signal caller out of Franklin, Georgia who in high school Jones was a highly recruited 4-star prospect with offers from all the major programs such as Florida, Ohio State, Alabama, and Auburn.
Jones originally committed to Ohio State before changing his decision to Florida. As a Gator Jones had a 64% completion rate, passing for 3,347 yards and 24 touchdowns. Jones is a dual-threat quarterback who rushed for 759 yards as a junior and 10 career rushing touchdowns.
He is now the only QB on the Sun Devils roster with a college start and he has to be the favorite to start this season over Alabama transfer Paul Tyson. This is a 4-star transfer for Herm Edwards as he identified a position of need and landed an impact starter with two years of eligibility remaining. Jones will elevate the Arizona State offense with his rushing ability. He may not be as gifted of a passer as Jayden Daniels was but he will make wow plays with his arm and speed combined.
This transfer may have an even bigger impact due to the investigations the program is going through, If they didn’t land a transfer QB this cycle It may have been a rough couple of seasons on offense.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
