Eric Gentry Continues Big Transfer Haul for USC

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image source=”featured_image” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]USC received good news as Arizona State star linebacker Eric Gentry has announced his intentions to transfer into Lincoln Riley’s program.

Gentry is a 6’6″ linebacker who is a solid run defender but could use a little work when pass rushing as he only had one sack last season. Gentry was named a Freshman All American with 5 tackles for loss and was expected to be a starter and main contributor on the Sun Devils’ defense this upcoming season. He was also the third-highest ranked linebacker in the PAC-12 by PFF.

Gentry is one of many players who reportedly took a look at USC because of potential NIL opportunities but, as always, it’s unclear how accurate this information is. He is a player who wasn’t recruited highly out of high school but shows flashes at a smaller Power Five school only to be poached by a blue blood. As for USC, this is a 4-star transfer and if he continues to develop and use his gifted athleticism he will be a starter for USC for the next two years.

Not only is It a big addition for the Trojans but taking a player like this away from an in-conference opponent is always a bonus.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
