Since Eddie George’s move from Tennessee State to Bowling Green, several intriguing players from the FCS program have entered the transfer portal. That continued today when junior defensive tackle Eriq George made himself available. What makes him more intriguing than the others is the George is Eddie George’s son.

George was very productive at Tennessee State, with his best season coming in 2024 with 57 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. Possessing good size, 6-foot-2 and 280-pounds, with an impressive level of production and playing a position that is always a priority in the portal, George should have plenty of options.
But what are the chances that he transfers to any school other than Bowling Green? George has yet to claim any offers, but it is an extremely safe assumption that the Falcons will be his first, if they haven’t already done so. It will be very interesting to see if he quickly commits to his father at Bowling Green or possibly wait a bit to see what other opportunities come his way.
The young George likely has some big decisions to make in the near future.
