WR Isaiah Bond to Texas, RB Roydell Williams to Florida State, and More Portal News

The fallout from Nick Saban retiring continues in the transfer portal.

The eyes of Texas are upon the Longhorn receivers in 2024, the Seminoles will have a talented rushing attack, the Baylor Bears get a talented WR/KR, Texas A&M picks up a TE, and TCU bolsters its defensive secondary. The chaos and bedlam continue to rage in the transfer portal from the retirement of Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer being hired to replace him.


WR Isaiah Bond

Texas Longhorns (from Alabama)

5’11”, 182 lbs.

The 2nd leading receiver for the Tide, Isaiah Bond caught 48 passes for 668 yards and four touchdowns. Bond caught five passes for 75 yards and the game-winning TD on 4th and 31 in a 27-24 win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl.

He had a season-high seven catches for 96 yards and a touchdown in a 26-20 win over Texas A&M, and averaged 25 yards on three catches for 77 yards and a score in a 34-20 win over Tennessee. Bond joins Johntay Cook and Matthew Golden, to name a few, in a very talented WR room in 2024.


RB Roydell Williams

Florida State Seminoles (from Alabama)

5’10”, 214 lbs.

The 2nd leading rusher for Alabama in 2023, Roydell Williams rushed for 560 yards and five touchdowns. In addition, he added a receiving touchdown. His season-high came against South Florida in which he carried 17 times for 129 yards and a touchdown in a 17-3 win.

WR Jamaal Bell

Baylor Bears (from Nevada)

5’10”, 171 lbs.

A versatile, all-purpose threat, Jamaal Bell caught 32 passes for 262 yards and a touchdown. In addition, Bell added a rushing touchdown and 439 yards on kickoff returns. Bell’s season high was eight catches for 121 yards and a touchdown in a 66-14 loss to USC.

Bell is the all-time leading kick returner at Nevada with 1,712 return yards, averaging 21 yards per return.


TE Tre Watson

Texas A&M Aggies (from Washington)

6’5”, 245 lbs.

Tre Watson played in 33 games at Fresno State, and caught 38 passes for 378 yards and four touchdowns in 2023. Watson’s season high was five catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-32 win over Utah State.

Watson transferred to Washington, then re-entered the portal during a 30-day window triggered the hiring of Kalen DeBoer to replace Nick Saban at Alabama.


DB Cameron Smith

TCU Horned Frogs (from Memphis)

6’0”, 180 lbs.

In 2023, Cameron Smith picked off three passes, made 57 tackles, and broke up six passes for a Memphis team that went 10-3. Smith produced three games of over seven tackles, including 10 stops in a 59-50 win over South Florida.
