The transfer portal is in full swing, and many elite players have already signed to play at their new schools. Here is a list of perfect fits for the programs and the players.
1) John Mateer, QB
Washington State to Oklahoma
John Mateer had a breakout season for Washington State this year. He is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the country, throwing for over 3,000 yards and rushing for over 800 yards. Mateer made a ton of plays for the Cougars last year and kept them relevant despite being in the shell of the Pac 2.
This is a perfect fit for Oklahoma who struggled on offense all year, especially at the quarterback position. Oklahoma needed a fresh start and Mateer wanted a bigger program, and he gets that in Oklahoma while continuing to work with elite offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle.
2) Eric Singleton, WR
Georgia Tech to Auburn
Hugh Freeze‘s 1st two years have not gone as planned as Auburn has gone 11-14 on the field. Freeze is known as a good offensive play designer and yet his offenses have fallen short.
Enter Eric Singleton who had a good year for Georgia Tech as a passing weapon for a run-heavy offense. Singleton caught 56 catches for 754 yards and three touchdowns. For Freeze’s make-or-break year, getting a good wide receiver like this should help.

3) Miller Moss, QB
USC to Louisville
Miller Moss had a good year for USC but was benched towards the end of the year as the Trojans struggled and entered the transfer portal for another opportunity. Moss threw 2,555 yards and 18 touchdowns in the year, albeit with 9 interceptions.
Transferring to Louisville makes a ton of sense because Jeff Brohm is known as one of the best quarterback developers in the country. Moss is a perfect fit for Brohm because he has experience from last year and is battle-tested as a quarterback.
4) Duce Robinson, WR
USC to Florida State
Duce Robinson is a huge target standing at 6’6″. He didn’t have a huge year for USC with only 23 catches, but he did have five touchdowns in his sophomore. Robinson is transferring to Florida State, a team that desperately needs playmakers. Robinson should get plenty of targets at Florida State and I expect the former five-star to have a big year in Tallahassee.
5) Jackson Arnold, QB
Oklahoma to Auburn
Jackson Arnold was a 5-star prospect out of high school and committed to Oklahoma. After sitting for a year, he took over the job this season and admittedly struggled badly. He only threw 1,421 yards and 12 touchdowns. Now, a lot of it was not on him. They had a new offensive coordinator, injuries, and the offensive line struggled.
So, Arnold is going to Auburn to reset his career. I think it is a good fit with Hugh Freeze needing a quarterback and Arnold being a talented player. He and Eric Singleton are going to be a very good combination.
